Students Gain Work Skills with Internships (Marin Independent Journal - August 1, 2004)
The Next Step Career Preparation Class of the Marin County Regional Occupational Program and the School to Career Summer Internship Program are highlighted through the experiences of four alternative education high school students from County Community School and Phoenix Academy. Through the Next Step Class and School to Career Internship, students are being introduced to the workplace through the caring attention of workplace supervisors at businesses and organizations such as Kaiser Permanente, the County of Marin, Madera Pet Hospital and Grateful Graphics.
 
Student is Internship Time in Marin (Marin Independent Journal - July 30, 2004)
The Buck Institute for Age Research hosted eight high school students for internships as part of their Summer Scholars Program. The students participated in full-time internships that placed them in biomedical research projects at the Center. The students apply for the internships through the School to Career Partnership and are assisted by Partnership staff through the application and interview process.
 
Preparing for the World (Marin Independent Journal - October 5, 2003)
The Marin County School to Career Partnership wins the Sharing and Caring Award from the Marin Independent Journal. The award includes a $5,000 matching grant. Two students are profiled in the article regarding their internships at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.
 
Job Training Program Gains Support (Marin Independent Journal - September 30, 2003)
The Marin Builders Association and Frank Howard Allen Realtors support the Partnership through a fundraising lunch that raises $15,000 for School to Career programs. Over twenty leaders in construction, real estate and local government support the funding effort. Internships and job shadows in the building and construction trades are introducing students to careers in those industries.
 
Career Partnership Shows Kids Real Life (Novato Advance - August 6, 2003)
A Novato High School student and her employer host in the physical therapy department of Novato Community Hospital discuss the benefits of the summer internship program. The student, who hopes to have a career in sports medicine, says that her experience has made her eager to continue her studies in college.
 
School to Career Intern Tries out Work at the Chamber (San Rafael Chamber of Commerce 
Business News - August 2003)
A student from County Community High School spends the summer working with the communications manager of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. Through her work the student learns research and communication skills and assists with the publication of the Marin/San Rafael Economic Profile. "She brought a spirit of youth into the office, like a breath of fresh air. She learned quickly and was a real help", states her employer host.
 
Teens Learn about Careers in Health Care (Kaiser Permanente Member News - Summer 2002)
Kaiser Permanente's School to Career Partnership Internship Program lets high school students who are interested in a health care career spend six to eight weeks in a closely supervised, hands-on role in departments such as Laboratory, Radiology or Neurology.
 
High School: What's the Point, Anyway? (Marin Scope - July 30-August 5, 2002)
The School to Career Partnership's summer internship program, now in its fifth year, gives students a chance to road-test their education and explore career options at businesses and non-profits across Marin.
